Trip Map

1

Into the Oasis

Leave the pace of everyday life behind and enter the stillness of Skoura. Hidden among palms, gardens and historic earthen buildings, our kasbah becomes home for the first chapter of the journey. The first day is intentionally gentle, giving everyone time to arrive, breathe and become acquainted with the landscape.

A Kasbah Homecoming

Settle into a beautiful kasbah property surrounded by fruit trees and the palm groves of Skoura. Spend the afternoon resting beside the pool, wandering through the gardens or simply enjoying the quiet.

Welcome Drinks

Gather for the first time over drinks and small bites as the afternoon light begins to soften across the oasis.

An Opening Dinner

The journey begins with an intimate dinner at the kasbah. This is an opportunity to meet fellow travellers, introduce the story behind the experience and settle into the slower rhythm of southern Morocco.

2

The Stories Held in Clay

Travel through the landscapes of southern Morocco to Ait Ben Haddou, one of the country's most remarkable fortified settlements and one of its most recognizable cinematic locations. The day reveals the many stories held within the ksar, from its historic relationship with trans Saharan trade to its traditional earthen architecture and appearances in major international productions.

Ait Ben Haddou Through Local Eyes

A private guide leads us through the ksar's narrow passageways, communal spaces and traditional homes. Along the way, we learn how generations transformed earth, straw and wood into architecture designed for the climate and landscape.

From Historic Ksar to the Screen

Discover locations connected to productions including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. The guide shares how the ksar and its surroundings were transformed for the screen and how Morocco's film industry has influenced communities across the region.

Lunch Overlooking the Ksar

Pause for a private lunch on a terrace overlooking Ait Ben Haddou. The setting provides time to absorb the architecture and surrounding landscape while sharing impressions from the morning.

An Artisan Encounter

Meet a local artisan or visit a traditional home to understand how creative and domestic life continues around this celebrated heritage site.

Dinner With a Local Family

Return to Skoura for an evening hosted by a local family. Gather around the table for a home cooked meal accompanied by conversation about food, family and life within the oasis.

The evening may include breadmaking, tea preparation or an introduction to the ingredients and techniques behind the dishes being shared. It is a genuine exchange built around hospitality rather than a staged performance.

3

Life Within the Palms

Today is about discovering Skoura as a living oasis rather than simply a collection of historic buildings. Guests can choose how they want to engage with the landscape through movement, food, craftsmanship or architecture.

Choose Your Oasis Experience

Explore the palm grove on horseback or by bicycle, take a guided walk through its farms and villages, join a cooking or pottery workshop or experience the surrounding terrain by quad bike. This flexible format allows guests to follow their interests while remaining connected to the wider story of Skoura.

The Kasbahs of Skoura

Guests interested in architecture can visit Kasbah Amridil and encounter some of the lesser known fortified residences scattered throughout the oasis. A private guide introduces the architecture, family histories, agricultural systems and domestic traditions represented within these structures.

An Open Afternoon

Return to the kasbah for time without commitments. Rest beside the pool, book a treatment, explore the gardens or simply spend time with the group.

Dinner in a Historic Setting

The evening concludes with a private candlelit dinner in a kasbah or palm grove setting. Local textiles, ceramics, lanterns and seasonal ingredients bring the surrounding landscape into the experience.

4

Where the Landscape Becomes Art

Travel into the Dades Valley, where cultivated fields, earthen villages and extraordinary rock formations unfold between the High Atlas and the Sahara. The day connects movement, creativity and Amazigh hospitality, revealing how the landscape continues to shape the people who live and create within it.

Walking Through Monkey Fingers

Choose between a gentle scenic walk and a more adventurous guided hike through the remarkable Monkey Fingers formations. The sculpted rock, narrow passages and elevated views provide one of the journey's most distinctive encounters with Morocco's natural landscape.

Inside the Artist's Workshop

Visit the studio of a local artist or artisan whose work is influenced by Amazigh heritage and the colors, textures and materials of the Dades Valley. Rather than a conventional shopping stop, the visit becomes a conversation about identity, inspiration and the relationship between place and creative expression.

Lunch With an Amazigh Host

Gather for lunch with an Amazigh family or community host. The meal introduces the flavors and hospitality of the valley while creating space for conversation and exchange.

Sunset Above Dades Gorge

End the experience overlooking the celebrated Dades switchbacks. Enjoy botanical drinks and light plates as the evening light moves across the canyon walls. The gathering remains relaxed and intimate before returning to Skoura.

5

Beauty Rituals of the Rose Valley

Travel to Kelaat M'Gouna to explore the traditions and enterprises surrounding Morocco's celebrated Damask rose. The experience introduces the women, techniques and knowledge that transform the region's flowers into beauty products used across Morocco and beyond.

Inside the Rose Industry

Meet women involved in producing rosewater, oils, soaps and cosmetic products. Learn how the flowers are harvested, distilled and transformed and how local enterprises are creating new economic opportunities for women.

Create Your Own Rose Ritual

Participate in a private beauty workshop and create or personalize a rose based product to take home. The experience connects beauty with agriculture, traditional knowledge and contemporary entrepreneurship.

Lunch in the Valley

Enjoy a relaxed lunch in Kelaat M'Gouna or the surrounding valley before returning to Skoura.

A Final Evening in Skoura

The remainder of the afternoon is open, allowing everyone to enjoy the kasbah before leaving the following morning. The final dinner in Skoura is deliberately informal, giving guests time to pack, rest and reflect on the first chapter of the journey.

Seasonal note: Outside April and May, the roses will not be flowering. The experience will focus on beauty rituals, production and women's enterprise rather than visits to blooming rose fields.

6

From the Oasis to the Red City

Leave the stillness of Skoura behind and begin the journey across the High Atlas to Marrakech. As the landscape changes from palm groves and earthen settlements to mountain passes and the energy of the Red City, the journey becomes the final scenic chapter of the trip.

Across the High Atlas

Travel west through Ouarzazate and into the mountains, pausing at selected viewpoints and for a thoughtfully arranged lunch along the route. The changing landscape provides a gradual transition between rural southern Morocco and Marrakech.

Arrival in Marrakech

Check into the hotel or riad and enjoy time to rest, refresh and prepare for the evening. No activity is scheduled immediately after arrival, ensuring that guests can enjoy the final group celebration without feeling rushed after the drive.

Dinner and Celebration at Safran

End the day at Safran by Koya, a lively Moroccan and Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Marrakech. Dinner unfolds alongside live musicians, dancers, instrumentalists and Gnawa fusion performances. As the evening progresses, the atmosphere moves naturally from dining into music and celebration.

This is the final planned gathering of the journey: joyful, energetic and shared.

7

Marrakech Your Way

The final day is intentionally left open, giving each guest the freedom to experience Marrakech according to their own interests and energy.

Whether they want to rest, explore, shop, book a wellness treatment or pursue something they discovered during the journey, the choice is entirely theirs.
